History:
From New Hampshire's earliest days, Bow has been conveniently accessed.
Quality roads, many developed during the New Hampshire Turnpike Movement,
and the "Bow Canal" served as a means of transporting goods
to and from the urban center of Boston, Massachusetts, and the mill
town of Manchester, New Hampshire.
Soon railroad traffic followed and Bow welcomed the arrival of its
first "Iron Horse" in 1842. Bow continues to be strategically
located at the crossroads of Interstate Routes 93 and 89. Route 93
leads north to Vermont and Canadian markets, and south to Massachusetts.
Route 89 runs west to Vermont and New York.
All of New England's
major centers of commerce are located within a 250-mile radius of
Bow.
