Transportation: Bow has excellent transportation access. We are a little more than one hour from Boston, the Atlantic coast, the White Mountains, Vermont, southern Maine, central/eastern Massachusetts and Canada, a major trading neighbor to the North, are within easy reach by highway, rail or air.
History: From New Hampshire's earliest days, Bow has been conveniently accessed. Quality roads, many developed during the New Hampshire Turnpike Movement, and the "Bow Canal" served as a means of transporting goods to and from the urban center of Boston, Massachusetts, and the mill town of Manchester, New Hampshire.
Soon railroad traffic followed and Bow welcomed the arrival of its first
"Iron Horse"
in 1842. Bow continues to be strategically located at the crossroads of Interstate Routes 93 and 89. Route 93 leads north to Vermont and Canadian markets, and south to Massachusetts.
Route 89 runs west to Vermont and New York.
All of New England's major centers of commerce are located within a 250-mile radius of Bow.
Major Roads & Highways: Bow's premier location at the crossroads of Northern New England, the intersection of U.S. Interstates 89 and 93, makes it an excellent location from which to ship and deliver. Located between Concord, the State's Capitol, and Manchester, the state's largest city, Bow is ideally situated to meet every business need. Historic Boston, long the hub of New England commerce is 60 miles away via Interstate 93. Boston Harbor, Logan Airport, Portsmouth Harbor, Pease Development Authority and Manchester Airport are all only minutes to just one hour away, providing entry to international travel and shipping. Together, this roadway system enables businesses to market and deliver products and services throughout the New England region.
Airports: For ready airport service, the newly expanded Manchester Airport is less than one-half hour away. Manchester Airport provides commercial passenger services on regularly scheduled flights and provides business travelers and their products access to numerous northeastern locations. Boston's Logan International Airport, an easy commute from Bow, puts you in touch with U.S. as well as foreign markets. Portland [Maine] International Jetport and Pease International Tradeport in Portsmouth are also nearby.
Ten minutes away is the Concord general aviation airport with air cargo and chartered passenger services. Also, if you fly your own private aircraft, touch down at Concord Airport.
Rail Service: The availability of outstanding rail service is another part of the Bow advantage. New England Southern Railroad serves Bow to the east of the Route 3A Industrial Zone.
Boston and Maine Corporation (and others) operate on a well-maintained rail line along the Merrimack River adjacent to several industrial and commercial parcels. Service is available to Boston and points beyond. The bulk of the coal burned at the Public Service Company of NH generating station arrives via train.
Freight: The intersection of Interstates 93 and 89 is located in the Town of Bow. Most of the business areas in Town have immediate interstate highway access, with the NH Route 3A industrial area about five minutes south of the Interstates 93 & 89 intersection.

I-93 and I-89 provide easy access to US 4 and NH 101 to the coasts of New Hampshire and Maine. NH 9 provides access to southern Vermont and on to Albany, New York. Bow also has an active rail line.

Running North and South, Interstate 93 carries products and commuters to Boston to the south and to the state capitol of Concord, NH, to the North and beyond. Immediate access to I-93 opens land based shipping to all points in New Hampshire, New England, and the USA.
